What's Going on at LLBCL – April 20th Edition

The next Virtual Family Challenge will start on Wednesday April 22nd. Create a marble run using common household items. This is the 4th virtual family activity which can be submitted by posting in the comments, sending it via messenger or e-mailing the Library Director (email icon on our homepage llbcl.ca). All entries are due on Tuesday, April 28th. Prizes will be awarded after all the challenges have been completed.

To celebrate National Canadian Film Day, the Lac La Biche County Libraries invite you to join the National Watch Party presented by the Institute for Canadian Citizenship and Reel Canada. On Wednesday, April 22nd you can stream the documentary “The Whale” at 5:00pm MST. Visit https://canadianfilmday.ca/the-whale-watch-party/ to access.

Next installment of RighT at Home featuring Joanne and hosted by the Lac La Biche County Libraries will be released on Thursday, April 23rd. Join us for a fun time featuring stories, songs, rhymes and crafts. The link will be posted on our website under the latest news section and Facebook page.

Looking for help with your schoolwork then checkout these resources available on our website:

  • Solaro - Find course lessons, reviews, and practice tests for students in grades 3 to 12. From science and math to social studies and English, Solaro follows the Alberta curriculum and provides online access to the same information found in The Key study guides
  • Explora Primary is designed specifically for elementary school students providing access to articles, facts from magazines and reference books for research papers, class projects or homework. For teachers we have the Explora Educator's Edition which references the Alberta Curriculum
  • For a limited time, Gale Databases can be accessed offsite.
Library Staff will be working from home and available Monday - Friday between 9-4pm to aid with our e-resources.
